UPS says its planned new €130 million facility demonstrates confidence in Dutch and European economies and creates more than 200 jobs.
UPS held an official cornerstone laying ceremony to announce plans to open a new package sorting and delivery facility in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Deutsche Post DHL Group says it has once again significantly increased both revenue and operating profit in the third quarter of 2017.
Group revenue was up by 5.6 per cent to €14.6 billion, with all four divisions contributing to the increase. The DHL Express division and the German and international parcel and eCommerce businesses continued to see particularly solid growth.
With EBIT of €834 million (2016: €755 million), Deutsche Post DHL Group recorded the strongest third quarter in its history1 and the eighth consecutive quarter in which the company has posted an all-time quarterly high. DHL, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and the consulting firm Accenture have published a study on the future of fashion logistics entitled The Human-Centered Supply Chain.
The study identifies major challenges that fashion industry supply chains will face in the future as well as areas where action must be taken, and it also proposes various solutions.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus sold some 144,000 vehicles of the MAN, Scania, and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus brands – From January to September 2017 inclusive.
This is an increase of 9 per cent on the same period in the previous year. In the first nine months of this year all three brands continued on their growth course.
In the first three quarters of this year MAN Truck & Bus sold some 62,400 vehicles, an increase of 5 per cent on the same period in the previous year.

Honeywell has launched a suite of software solutions for truck drivers which the company says is helping transportation and logistics providers and drivers comply with US federal safety mandates that go into effect in December.
Honeywell has extended its driver-focused enterprise software solution to enable truck drivers to easily and quickly complete electronic logs and conduct vehicle inspections using a single mobile device.

Prime Healthcare has expanded its existing partnership with Omnicell to serve what the companies claims is “a majority of facilities within the health system” in the US.
Prime Healthcare, a 45-hospital network serving 14 states, is implementing Omnicell’s new XT Series automated medication dispensing systems in seven hospitals, expanding Omnicell’s presence to over half of the facilities within its health system.

Ridecell, which provides a platform for carsharing and ridesharing operators, has acquired Auro Robotics, a California-based developer of autonomous vehicle technology, in an all-stock transaction.
Ridecell also announced the public availability of its autonomous operations platform which has successfully been used in autonomous pilot programs.
With these two initiatives, Ridecell says it now offers “the industry’s first complete autonomous new mobility solution that enables on-demand autonomous shuttle mobility service in low-speed, private-road settings”.
